Somewhere Between South Hampton and the Universe's Edge
An adventure spanning from 1966 to 2001… The Hansom House was an old speakeasy converted into a work of art, a social hub, nestled in the village of Southampton. Jonathan Jaques creates a unique atmosphere where a solo visitor can stay entertained without any company. “What was even going on up there?” asked the authorities. The nightclub experienced over thirty-six years of evolution, navigating police raids, harassment from the municipality, and a quest for survival and preservation of place—an original entrepreneur, running a business while simultaneously developing art compositions in various media. Along with the ambiance, patrons will remember the thirty-foot stained glass window and the old horse-drawn carriage that once drove the ever-changing streets of Southampton.

The book is a dedication to the memories and friends of the Hansom House, with a special appreciation to Tugboat, H.H.’s most loyal friend.
